Alexandra Ordoñez – Dive Master

I was born and raised in Colombia, the place where I first fell in love with the ocean, and where I completed my bachelor degree in Marine Biology. During my studies, I did my open water course and my first immersion was in the beautiful Caribbean waters of Panama. Then, I went on to complete my advanced PADI dive course in Santa Marta, Colombia. I still remember my first night dive, I was mesmerised by how different marine life looks at night and the beauty of bioluminescence. Since then, every immersion has been a great adventure.

Following my passion, I ended up in Australia, where I continued my studies. I did my PhD in Marine Ecology and during that time I had the amazing opportunity to do my work in the most beautiful reefs of the world, The Great Barrier Reef. I’ve dived many reefs in the GBR, but my favorite places to dive are Heron Island, Lizard Island, Lady Elliot Is and the reefs of the Far Northern GBR.

Currently, I’m a dive master with Dive Den Scuba and having lots of fun exploring the reefs around Gold Coast.
